The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a music industry trade group. The association is responsible for certifying sales figures for albums and singles for Gold and Platinum awards. Harry Chapin had one Gold single, Two Gold albums, and one Platinum album, and one Double Platinum album.[1]
