Cotton Patch Gospel was finally released on CD thirty years after the first performance. Harry's family members continue to perform in a number of Harry Chapin tribute concerts in addition to many having their own music careers. Harry's song Cat's in the Cradle was selected for inclusion in Grammy Hall of Fame.[1] Rolling Stone readers selected Cat's in the Cradle as the second best song about dads.

- 5 - Hard Rock Cafe hosted a kickoff event to endow the Catawba College Harry Chapin Scholarship[2]
- 30 - Cotton Patch Gospel opens at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope, AL.[3]

- 1 - Cotton Patch Gospel performed by the Alexandria Area Arts Association has a two week run at the AAAA Theater in Alexandria, MN.[4]
- 2 - Satinwood with special guests Chapin band mates John Wallace and Howie Fields perform a Harry Chapin Tribute concert at the Aril Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham, MA.[5]
- 3 - Satinwood with special guests John Wallace and Howie Fields perform a Harry Chapin Tribute concert at the Suffield Middle School Auditorium in Suffield, Connecticut benefiting the Suffield Emergency Aid Association.[5]
- 30 - Bill Pere and the L.U.N.C.H. Ensemble perform a Harry Chapin Tribute Concert at the East Hartford Community Cultural Center in Hartford, Connecticut.[6]
- 30 - The Chapin Family perform a Harry Chapin: A Celebration in Song concert at The Community Theatre in Morristown, NJ. [7][8][9]
May
- 7 - Steve Chapin Band performed a A Night of Chapin Music in Schaumburg, Illinois at the Prairie Center for the Arts. Tickets are available at Prairie Center for the Arts ticket office.[8]

- 5-7 - Harry's Cotton Patch Gospel was performed at the Roane State Community College Theatre in Harriman, TN.[10]
- 21 - Chapin Family Concert by the Sea Weekend in Ovens Natural Park in Nova Scotia, Canada.[9]
