Buying Chapin Stuff

I do not sell Harry Chapin music,  memorabilia or any of the items mentioned on this site. Many people get to my web site due my listing of compilations Harry is included on it seems. But since people ask, here are my thoughts and opinions.

1. Chapin Benefiting Sites

The money you spend goes to great people and causes.

harrychapinmusic.com This is the official Chapin family site. They have all currently available recordings along with some unique Chapin items you can get no where else.

tomchapin.com - Tom's site has most of his commercially available stuff for sale.

jenhapin.com - Jen's site has most her of her commercially available stuff for sale, except Linger. Linger is available in stores.

worldhungeryear.org  - Donate here and receive holiday cards designed by Steve Chapin, or Tom Chapin, or featuring words from Circle. WHY used to offer a number of items of Chapin items for sale. These are now available at the family site mentioned above.

2. Buying for a cause

In addition to the web sites above, purchasing the following items will benefit World Hunger Year.

One Step Up Two Steps Back (1997) is a Bruce Springsteen authorized 2 CD collection of covers. For every album sold a donation is given to World Hunger Year.

3. Other sites

Howard Fields

Howard Fields, Harry's only drummer,  still has a few copies of the rare 1966 release Chapin Music! by the Chapin Brothers. He also has other unique Harry Chapin memorabilia available. He can be reached at hf.rockpaper@verizon.net.

For Just About Anything

eBay.com -  has lots of hard to find stuff.
www.Google.com  will also find items for sale with a little persistence and the right keywords

Recordings (Vinyl, CD, etc.)

Forever Vinyl - I got Tom Chapin's Mt. Airy here
In Your Ear - I got the 1966 Chapin Music! here (for a lot of money)
Tree City Recording - only new and out of print items
World Wide Wax
Espirit International - Large European site.
Music Stack  - this multi-vendor site has a huge collection
Music 1 search - multi-vendor
best Used CDs - They had Tribute 1999.

Sheet Music

I have found good selection at Amazon, Barnes and Noble (bn.com), and Powells. Also MusicSheetPlus.com seems to be the largest site these days focused on just sheet music.

Other Sites

PeaceRock.com - Good sight for posters
Paper Boy News - Nice reasonably priced selection of ads from magazines such as Billboard.
