Obituaries

James H. `Jim' Carter formerly of Waukegan

Services for James H. `Jim' Carter, 48, of Sharon, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee.
Born July 1, 1951, in Waukegan, he passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999, at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Burial will be private. 

Mr. Carter had served in law enforcement in the Lake County area for more than 20 years, both as a police officer and a private investigator. He was also a past president of the Fraternal Order of Police and a Marine Corps veteran. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the North Woods of Wisconsin. He was a charter and life member of the Bristol Trap Range and a life member of Ducks Unlimited. In addition, he loved the music of Harry Chapin.
