From Billboard Magazine, 8 August 1981 Set Chapin Memorial FundLos Angeles - The Harry Chapin Memorial Fund has been established "to continue the humanitarian work that Harry was so committed to, particularly the eradication of world hunger," according to Ken Kragen, president of the management firm which had managed Chapin. While Kragen acknowledged that specifics of the fund have yet to be worked out, he said, "our plan is to appoint a distinguished group of people who will decide how the Fund can best be utilized to continue the work Harry had begun." The address of the Harry Chapin Memorial Fund is P.O. Box 538, Huntington, N.Y. 11743. Tax exempt status will be applied for. Chapin, killed in an automobile accident July 16, had devoted half of his 200 annual concerts for various political and social causes.
